Meet the Doctors

William Bomar Turner, III, M.D.

Dr. William B. Tuner is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1980.

In 1985, Dr. Turner completed his fifth and final year of Urology residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, which was comprised of two years of general surgery, followed by three years of Urology. If you would like to review Dr. Turner’s curriculum vitae, click here.

Mark Steven LaFave, M.D.

Dr. Mark Lafave graduated from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine, Wake Forest University in 1988. His internship and general surgery training was at the Letterman Army Medical Center in The Presidio, San Francisco, California. He completed his urology residency at the Penn State University Hershey Medical Center in 1995. He was chief of urology at the Eisenhower Army Medical Center Augusta, Georgia from 1995 to 1997. He was in private practice in Kentucky for several years building a very busy and successful practice. He came home to North Carolina in 2005 to work with his friend and co-resident Dr. John Kaspar. His interests and expertise include endoscopic stone surgery, pelvic prolapse and incontinence treatments, urological reconstruction and oncology along with general office surgery.

He is also involved with medical staff leadership and serves as current vice president of the medical staff and Board of Directors of Wayne Memorial Hospital. He serves on the Board of Directors of Triangle Lithotripsy Corporation. Dr. LaFave is Board Certified by the American Board of Urology. Sherman M. Hawkins, Jr. M.D.

Dr. Sherman M. Hawkins is a specialist in stones and oncology who received his Doctor of Medicine in 1987 from Georgetown University’s School of Medicine in Washington, D.C.
